About the job

Problems
Stamping machining of materials (steel plates) is an integral part of cab production processes for construction and agricultural machinery. At our customers' facilities up to 70kg steel plates are pressed using 1,000 ton pressing machines. Three people were required to perform the work since the sheets are too large for a single worker to handle easily and the workers must bend over during the loading and unloading of the press.
Solutions
In order to perform the required work the Raku-Raku Hand needed an aend effector to reach to the back of the stamping resulting in greater load than merely that of the steel sheets being lifted due to overhang.
An additional requirement was the preservation of clearance for slewing during movement between the palettes and the stamping machine.
A large electric EJ model was able to fill these needs meaning improvement of work once performed with an unstable posture, reduction in labor from three workers to one, as well as energy savings.
